Discover The Amazing Slab On Grade Vancouver BC

By Frances Gibson

The best thing about being alive is the gift of having the chance to explore and see the beauty of every places whether God given or manmade. There is nothing more interesting than exploring distinct places such as the floating city of Vancouver. If you are wondering whether to be in such a place is safe or not then find out the advantages and disadvantages of Slab on Grade Vancouver BC.

Floating cities exists and have existed since a long way back, all over the world. Looking at it whether in person or in pictures we find online, we can hardly tell if it is safe or not since unlike the land, water is not solid. However, these unique cities have been existing long before which means to say we could somehow say that we could rely on it.

Many people find it interesting to know how they made the city stand because again, it is a peculiar design and people who came from a regular type of environment will always find it impossible until they actually get to see and experience it. For every building that stands strong, a great foundation lies beneath it.

Every building whether floating or attached to the ground has its own type of foundation. It does not really depend on the engineer or the architect, it depends on the area where it is going to be built.

A concrete slab is what serves as a foundation for the floating slab type. It works in a way that it is formed in the ground. To make it solid, the workers would put the concrete in the mold leaving no room so it stays in compact.

This method had been trusted for hundreds of years already and is still applied until this very day. One common thing that makes this technique preferred by many is the fact that it is cheaper than some of the other methods. Despite that it needs lesser expenses, it had been proven to be reliable for a long time and is still earning trusts until today.

Aside from that, the best advantage that this method offers is that its design does not attract termites, thus the structures below are safe from infestation. An easily infested foundation is very dangerous as it would ruin the structure and weaken the substructure which could cause the collapse of the existing infrastructures on top of it.

But then again, it also has its weak points. This technique cannot be applied in all places as its workability is highly dependent on the temperature of a place that is why it is commonly used on warm places. When the water temperatures exceeds from zero, it creates a tendency for the slab to crack.

Whether you are a builder or just a traveller in the place, you still have the responsibility of knowing about this information especially because it affects your safety. If you know how things work, you will be able to know what to do when distraction comes.
