A well-maintained and kept landscape can be so appealing to look at. Its relaxing space and natural beauty creates a sense of serenity and happiness. It can also play a significant role in conservation especially in preventing soil erosion. However, conserving your landscape to such standards can be tough. Read through to equip yourself with some excellent tips on Tenafly landscaping maintenance.

Several ways are used to maintain the landscape in the attractive scenery. Mowing is one of the best ways of ground keeping. It involves leveling or cutting down grass. Each type of grass has its recommended mowing height, make sure you find out the type of the grass on your landscape to mow at the recommended height. Occasional close mowing produces a brown lawn which has just a few side effects.

Edging is another activity that makes the ground look amazing. After winter when the snows melt, you have a lawn that needs edging. After applying fertilizer and watering your lawn, your attention should go to edging as it gives the lawn an appealing design. You have two tools to choose from when edging your lawn; you can use an electric or gas-powered edging tool.

Control the weeds in your turf. You can use herbicides to do this, or you can do it manually by pulling up the weeds every mow, which is the more preferred way. This should be done when the weeds are starting to crop up because their roots have not spread widely by then. If you consider using herbicides, ensure that you go for the selective herbicides since they do not kill the grass alongside the weed.

Ensure you also control the weeds in your turf. Herbicides and manual plucking are the two commonly used methods for this purpose. If you decide to use an herbicide, ensure you use a selective herbicide. A selective herbicide will kill the weeds and leave your grass intact. The other most preferred method is hand plucking. The method is very efficient especially if the weeds are still sprouting. Do not let the weeds go so long before you pluck them out. It will ensure that the roots do not grow so firmly to the ground.

Turf also needs a lot of water; do not forget that oxygen is also an import component for turf to survive. During the dry season you will be required to water the lawn in the morning and in the evening to provide enough moisture for the turf. Regulate your watering as too much water might do damage to your lawn.

Availability of water is vital for the growth of a turf. Ensure your grass gets the right proportion of water. Too much of it will prevent and hinder oxygen concentration risking the survival of the plant. Also, apply right quantities of fertilizers regularly. Just like water, avoid too much of it as it significantly reduces soil fertility. In fact, organic fertilizers are the best if available.

These maintenance activities will lead to a landscape that is appealing to everyone who will come across your lawn. In case there are moles on your landscape make sure you get rid of them as soon as possible to avoid more damage to the soil.
